I got a gold salvage item and...
I identified it and it came out to be this:
Dwarven Warrior Armor of Major Absorption It's still a Salvage item though.. what do I do with it? |

Oh, that's how it works? Darn.. is the % rate high to get a rune out of it? I was pretty excited when I got it, but now not so much, hehe. Still need to afford an expert salvage kit.

What the "Dwarven Warrior Armor of Major Absorption" means is that there is a Rune of Major Absorption in the salvage item. If you use a major salvage kit on the salvage item, there is a good chance that you will unlock the Rune.
P.S. When you put the Rune in a peice of Warrior armor it will "reduce damage from attacks". Source: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/content...unes-id824.php |

Yep, that's how it works. I myself have good luck usually, but my buddy is getting to the point where he wants to give all the items to me to Expert Salvage LOL.
Really though, you now have it unlocked for PvP, so at least that is taken care of. Also, if your character isn't Warrior primary, then you cannot use that rune anyway. Although I daresay it would sell for a pretty penny. BTW I sold one for 1600g and I hear I may have ripped myself off.... |

I'm a warrior, so if I get the rune I will use it. I'll be able to get one of those expert salvage kits later.. wish me luck!

I'm not sure if this is true, but someone in my group once said if you never have had it before you will most likely salvage it.
I for one expert salvaged a rune and got a wood plank. Yipee lol |

One thing I hate is the luck required in salvaging a rune or special item. Why cant they just make it 100% chance, I mean, it was hard enough to find such a rare drop.. Luck in the beginning was poor, got a few purple items but when I expert salvaged I got iron ingots or tan hide squares .. luck now is way better, went 6/6 yesterday =)

because then its way too easy, and no more challenge
i find about 10 gold armors a day, and countless purple if i m really hunting for runes. i loose about 50% of the runes due to the expert salvage kit, and it hurts to see your superior vigor rune being shifted into 2 steel ingots. but still u gain a lot of runes (imo too many) while u play, and it is already not very hard to get the few runes you need and make money to buy your 60k armors by the way. |

Maybe the creators wanted to make it more realistic by having that if your in a zone you'd be more nervous of a monster jumping you so you do a worse job salvagin??? and when you in town you more calm so you do a better job?!
yeah im probably completely off |
